James Petrucci is a London based artist, curator and lecturer. He is co-founder of The Undead Painters, a forum established in 2013, exploring prominent issues in contemporary painting.

James Petrucci’s practice employs the language and syntax of paint and gesture to investigate illusionary surface and space. Working across painting, print, installation and 3 dimensions Petrucci explores the creation and experience of the painted surface in the post-digital age. Current works examine the relationship between digital and analogue rendering employing influences from software and the screen alongside the painted gesture. Combining disparate approaches, which both unify and jar, Petrucci’s work explores balance and tension, stability and disruption.
